Meet Your Instructor: Max (30+ Years as a Martial Arts Student)

Max brings over three decades of real-world martial arts experience to our Women's Self-Defence Course. With a deep passion for empowering others, especially women, Max is committed to teaching practical, effective techniques that truly work in real-life situations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Max’s extensive background in both traditional and modern martial arts, along with his elite coaching.

- 4th Degree Black Belt. Instructor Level. Renshi – Mt Evelyn Martial Arts

- 3rd Degree Black Belt – BJMA (Bob Jones Martial Arts) Instructor Level. Sensei

- 3rd Degree Red Singlet (Muay Thai) – BJMA

- 30 Years Martial Arts Experience – Covering self-defence, striking, pad work, and real-world combat training

- Professional Diploma in Sports Performance Nutrition

- Cert III & IV in Fitness and Personal Training

- Double Diploma in Advanced Fitness Business

What You Need To Know!

You will learn 5 stages throughout your self defence course. You can learn more information about each level below:

Level 1

Introduction to Self Defence: Understanding the importance of self defence and the basic principles of personal safety.

- Situational Awareness: Developing the ability to assess potential threats and avoid dangerous situations.

- Mental and Emotional Preparedness: Developing mental and emotional resilience to handle stressful situations.

- Verbal Situational avoidance Learning effective communication techniques to defuse/alert surrounding witnesses and avoid potentially violent situations.

- Home Safety, Mobile Phone and Security: Tips and techniques for securing yourself

Level 2

Multiple Attackers: situations where there are multiple attackers.

- Self-Defence in Public Spaces: Techniques for defending yourself in crowded areas or public transportation.

Level 3

Basic Strikes and Blocks: Mastering simple yet effective strikes and self protection skills.

- Escaping Holds and Grabs: Techniques to break free from various types of holds and grabs.

- Ground Defence: Learning how to defend oneself when in a vulnerable position on the ground, where there are multiple attackers.

Level 4

Self-Defence for Vulnerable Situations: Addressing specific scenarios such as being followed, stalked, or threatened in intimate relationships.

Level 5

Review and Practice: Consolidating and reinforcing the techniques learned throughout the course and building action strategies scenarios.
